How does Omegaverse compatibility work?

Compatibility is scored on two layers: role pairing (Alpha, Beta, Omega against each other) and trait pairing (Control, Protection, Nurture, Connect against each other). Each layer scores out of 5, the two combine out of 10, and that total converts to a percentage.

No single number decides a pairing. An Alpha-Omega role match scores high on its own, but the trait pairing underneath it can still pull the total down, or push it higher. That's the whole point of scoring both layers instead of one.

Which roles pair best together?

Alpha and Omega score highest at 5 out of 5. Beta pairs well with anyone, scoring 4 out of 5 with both Alpha and Omega. Beta and Beta score 4 out of 5. Alpha and Alpha score lowest at 2 out of 5, and Omega and Omega score 2 out of 5 as well.

Two Alphas butting heads for control, or two Omegas both waiting for the other to take the lead, are the classic friction pairs. Beta shows up as the steadiest partner on paper for a reason: no instinct-driven ego to manage.

Which traits pair best together?

Control and Nurture score highest at 5 out of 5. Protection and Connect also score 5 out of 5. Control on its own with another Control scores lowest at 1 out of 5. Most other trait combinations land in the middle, between 3 and 4.

💡 Pro Tip: Two Control types together is the lowest score on this whole table, and it's not about the roles at all. It's two people who both need to run things, in the same relationship. Doesn't matter if they're both Alphas or both Omegas, the friction is the same.

What makes a pairing "fated" vs. conflict-prone?

A fated pairing combines a strong role score with a strong trait score, typically 80% or higher combined. A conflict-prone pairing scores low on one or both layers, usually because the two matched instincts compete instead of complement.

The Tether Omega + The Shield Alpha : Land near the top of the scale: Alpha-Omega role score of 5, Connect-Protection trait score of 5, 100% combined. One bonds hard, the other wants exactly that to protect.

The Architect Beta + The Wildfire Omega : Beta-Omega role score of 4, Control-Protection trait score of 3, 70% combined. Workable, but the planner and the person who resists being planned for will clash.

Frequently asked questions about Omegaverse compatibility

Does a low compatibility score mean the pairing can't work?

No. It means more friction, not failure. Some of the best-written pairings in the genre are conflict-prone on paper and make it work through the story.

Do I need a quiz result to use the compatibility checker?

No, you can select any two archetypes directly. Taking the main quiz first just means one selector is already filled with your real result.

Can I check compatibility with my own archetype?

Yes, selecting the same archetype twice runs the role-role and trait-trait same-value score, which shows how two people with an identical result tend to clash or click.

Where do these compatibility numbers come from?

They're fixed scoring tables built into the site, one for role pairings and one for trait pairings, combined into a single percentage. They're not randomized or reader-submitted.

Is scent code factored into compatibility?

No. Compatibility scores role and trait only. Scent is a separate result from the scent quiz and doesn't affect this score.
